The appellant, a former employee of the City of Seattle, contends that the city’s Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI) created a racially hostile work environment in violation of the Equal Protection Clause. The brief provides support for the appellant. During his tenure, the appellant received high performance evaluations and awards. However, he claims that he was subjected to years of racial harassment and forced to participate in race-conscious trainings, both of which damaged his professional dignity. According to Steptoe’s brief, the District Court’s decision, if upheld, would severely limit plaintiffs’ ability to challenge workplace discrimination.
